BOGOBRUSH

.
Chief Creative Officer (Nov 2011 – Apr 2022)

Co-founded and led creative direction for the first sustainably designed toothbrush brand, integrating recyclable and compostable materials, and scaling into thousands of retailers across the U.S., including CVS, Urban Outfitters, and exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.

THE FIRST TOOTHBRUSH YOU’LL ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT.

THE PROBLEMS

Why we created the little toothbrush that could.

THE ENVIRONMENT

20 Million toothbrushes each year end up in landfills, waterways or habitats
.

OUR NEIGHBORS

40 Million Americans lack access to adequate dental care, prevention programs are underfunded leading to chronic health issues.

BAD DESIGN

Toothbrushes were designed with useless grips and gimmicks that provided no functional value.

DESIGN FOR ALL

With a cylindrical shape inspired by professional dental tools, the brush fits perfectly in any hand. The accompanying stand, elevates the toothbrush to proudly display in your home, stored upright in open air just as dentists recommend.

MADE FROM PLANTS

We created industry first bioplastics using hemp, cotton, coffee and flax.

BORN IN THE USA.

Creating products & jobs in our backyard, from the plains of North Dakota to the rust belt of Detroit.

BUILDING THE TEAM

Over ten years, we supported and cultivated a team of 20+ dreamers - growing the company from selling toothbrushes at farmers markets, to selling at thousands of stores around the world.

GIVING BACK

With each brush sold, we gave one to families in need. This helped keep health clinics open in developing countries, and supported the people in our own communities who could not afford dental care.

GROWING THE FAMILY

We added a full line of kids toothbrushes, launched with a children’s book that teaches kids that even something as small as brushing your teeth can be a big adventure.

AWARD WINNING DESIGN, AT YOUR CORNER STORE

Everyone deserves good design, Bogobrush was a testament to this, featured both in the Smithsonian design museum, and on the shelves of your local CVS.
